The December Bride
Here's how this works: This is a writer's exercise. The songs of The Decemberists imply a strange, sadly wonderful world. These stories reference every song released on an album by The Decemberists, and a few others. Some songs are given a great deal of attention, others receive only glancing blows. Some songs are referenced with great fidelity, others are just alluded to. Every major character in these tales is drawn, to some extent, from these songs. There is no other formula.
